21st August 2009 Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: 14/20 Surf / Sea State: big Air Temperature: 21 Sea Temperature: 18 Weather: mainly cloudy Max Speed: 26.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 8 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) One of my worst sails of the year which is a shame as I managed to get down just after dinner !!! On arrivel the wind was slightly off so I should have gone and had a look at the Fludgers(which I don't like) or the Manor but several were rigging up so I decided to stay.I started off with the falcon 90 and 6.6 but way over and the sea big so changed to the 5.6 and wave board which was'nt enough :( The wind was very gusty and switched from cross to slightly off and what ever board I happened to choose seemed to be wrong :( but the wave board was best but because the wind was abit off it was a pain getting off the beach and back again !! Gave up in the end as was getting cold and packed up only to miss the best conditions of the day as the sun came out and the wind settled so the slalom gear would have been fine - but that's sod's law for youi !!! |
